Joining a healthcare agency: the documents you'll need
What to have ready so your checks go through quickly and you can start working sooner.

Every agency that places staff in health and social care has to check its workers before their first shift. The quicker you can provide your documents, the sooner you can start picking up work. Here's what to get ready.
Identity and right to work
- A valid passport, or a share code if your right to work is held as an eVisa
- Proof of your current address, such as a recent utility bill or bank statement
- Your National Insurance number
DBS check
You'll need an enhanced DBS check. If you already have one and you're signed up to the DBS Update Service, tell us. It can save time. If not, we'll help you apply.
Professional registration (nurses)
Have your NMC PIN to hand. We'll check your registration on the NMC register before offering you shifts.
Training certificates
Bring certificates for your mandatory training, such as moving and handling, basic life support, safeguarding and infection prevention. If anything is out of date, let us know.
Your CV and references
An up-to-date CV with your recent roles and an explanation of any gaps. Have contact details ready for referees from your recent employment.
